For those from our Canadian churches:

A chat in October 2019 with an OPC member who works for US Customs and Border Patrol revealed that nothing can be done to 100% ensure passage through the border for those who wish to enter the USA to do short-term missions work.

But, here a few suggestions to increase the odds of getting through:

  1. Bring a letter of invitation with phone numbers of those in the US who can be called to verify your reason for coming. Two different contacts would be better than one.

  2. If you have booked a hotel, bring that hotel confirmation, demonstrating that you will be checking out of the hotel at the time that you say.

  3. Bring printed evidence of appointments or such that you have back in Canada that demonstrate that you will returning at the time you say.

Hope to see you on our short-term missions fields soon!
