I was able to see clearly how God’s grace and mercy is working in the hearts of American and Czech Christians whose lives have been changed by hearing the Word, repentance, and regeneration. In their stories I heard my own story — hopelessly lost and graciously found, being made new in Christ . . .
English Camp is advertised in the Czech Republic as a family camp run by Christians. Families are invited to a resort for one week to attend English classes, go on day trips, enjoy sporting activities, and put on skits and talent shows. All reading lessons are from Scripture and oral discussions revolve around the stories . . .
Here at the Boardwalk Chapel we aren’t just another group of young Christians on a summer mission’s trip. The Boardwalk Chapel is different. We live together in one house as a community of believers, and each night we perform a program at the Chapel so we can share with people walking along the Boardwalk the love and joy that Christ shares with us . . .
(Testimonial: English for Kids Bible Camp) When I looked at it as “HOW AM I” going to do it, it seemed like a virtually impossible task, but when I looked at it as “GOD CAN,” it didn’t seem nearly as impossible. It wasn’t my love, my strength, my words, or any of me that would be able to care for these children, it was God’s love, God’s words, God’s strength, none of me . . .
I was blessed to be in the position of teacher to those children who taught me much themselves. God is going to see new life sown, watered, and grown as He wills. Nothing can stop His kingdom, for His Word will be heard wherever and to whomever He wishes, and work its way powerfully into people’s lives throughout the whole wide world . . .
Thanks be to God for providing strength and safety to both teams and for all the work that was accomplished. I personally was excited to return to Yamamoto after five years to see the progress made in recovering from the tsunami and the impact the Nozomi Center has in meeting the physical and spiritual needs of the community . . .
