Puerto Rico 2019: No Matter What Language You Speak

by Andrea Demby, Church of the Covenant OPC, Hackettstown, NJ (September 2019)

Our short-term mission trip this summer was in Arroyo, Puerto Rico, at the "Iglesia Presbiteriana Sola Escritura" - a church plant of the OPC. What a blessing the church and their hospitality bestowed upon us.

Initially, we thought it was going to be a labor of love mission trip but God had other plans.

We did outreach in the mornings at the Arroyo post office by handing out church literature and tracts with the gospel. In the early evenings, we evangelized in different communities by walking door to door and handing out tracts. This provided an opportunity for us to have more personal time with people and present the gospel of Christ in our conversations.

That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. Romans 10:9 (KJV)

The takeaway and blessing of it all is that no matter what language you speak, God is God and we are all in need of the Savior.

For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God. Romans 3:23 (KJV)
